SCANNER FOR ACQUIRING IMAGES OF GRANULAR SUBSTANCES

The disclosed scanner that acquires images of granular substances comprises a base and a lid. One end of the base is attached to one end of the lid via a pivot. A scan area is provided on the top surface of the base. The lid is provided with a light-absorbing background panel that comprises a light-absorbing part and faces the top surface of the base. Said light-absorbing part is fitted to the scan area. The light-absorbing part serves as the light-absorbing background panel and comprises a base plate and a light-absorbing layer affixed to the surface of the base plate. The light-absorbing layer is removably disposed on the surface of the base plate that faces the scan area. The light-absorbing layer can absorb light and does not readily reflect, thereby decreasing the effect of reflected light on acquired images and improving the quality of acquired images and the accuracy of acquired data. The disclosed scanner also provides the benefit that replacement of the light-absorbing layer is convenient.
