Disclosed is a base station which comprises: a reconnection setting information generation unit which, when handover from a first base station has been requested, receives a reconnection request signal from a mobile device, and then generates reconnection setting information to be used when identifying the mobile device; a transmission unit which transmits the reconnection request signal to the first base station; a reception unit which, after the second base station has received a reconnection request signal from the mobile device, receives reconnection setting information to be used when identifying the mobile device, from a second base station to which the mobile device is to be handed over; a reconnection setting information retaining unit which retains the reconnection setting information; and a connection processing unit which uses the reconnection setting information retained in the reconnection setting information retaining unit to carry out a reconnection processing between the second base station and the mobile device, in accordance with the reconnection request signal from the mobile device after an initial reconnection processing with the second base station.
