PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling the opening and closing power of a sliding door is provided to easily open and close a door by controlling the operation of a motor depending on the slope of a road. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for controlling the opening and closing power of a sliding door comprises an inclination angle sensing unit, a first door movement sensing unit, a second door movement sensing unit, a control unit, and an opening and closing power adjusting unit. The inclination angle sensing unit senses the inclination angle of a road where a vehicle is stopped and outputs the inclination angle signal. The first door movement sensing unit senses the opened and completely closed state of a sliding door(2). The second door movement sensing unit senses the completely opened and closed states of the sliding door. The control unit determines whether the sliding door is opened or closed by receiving the signals from the first and second door movement sensing units and outputs a control signal. The opening and closing power adjusting unit adjusts the opening and closing power of the door depending on the outputted control signal.
