PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a thick-walled light-transmissive resin sheet which is efficient, copes with the diversification of resin materials, and realizes a significant reduction of distortion. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing a light-transmissive resin sheet with 10 to 50 mm thick wall from a thermoplastic resin comprises processes of: (i) injecting a molten thermoplastic resin into a mold cavity, in such an intermediate mold clamping state where the movable half is open excessively by one compression stroke in the process (process-i); (ii) performing a final mold clamping by compressing the resin after injection (process-ii); (iii) further compressing the resin after the final mold clamping (process-iii); (iv) cooling the resin upto a temperature level at which it can be unloaded from the mold cavity and then unload a molded object (process-iv); and (v) improving the flatness of the molded object by removing the peripheral edge part of the molded object (process-v).
