PURPOSE: A seam plate for a cutting tool and a tool thereof are provided to increase the lifetime of a cutting tool by reducing the abrasion of a base body and the damage of a basic body when an insert is damaged. CONSTITUTION: A seam plate comprises a bottom surface, a contact surface and one or more lateral surface. The bottom surface is touched in the seat surface of a basic body. The contact surface faces in the bottom surface and is touched in a cutting insert. One or more lateral surface is extended between the bottom surface and contact space. A virtual straight line(a) about the bottom surface of the seam plate and a virtual straight line(b) about the contact surface of the seam plate are directed toward the envelope surface of the basic body. The virtual straight lines are arranged at a predetermined angle(α).
