PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an inhibitor of nitric oxide (NO) production readily available as a component derived from a plant and having high safety for living bodies. SOLUTION: This inhibitor of the NO production comprises a triterpene ingredient represented by the structural formula (wherein, R1 is hydroxy group or a ketone group [(>C)=O; wherein the carbon atom of >CO is contained in the carbon skeleton of a base structure]; R2 is a hydroxymethyl group, carboxy group or methyl group when R1 is hydroxy group or R2 is hydroxymethyl group or carboxy group when R1 is the ketone group) as an active ingredient. |
