The device (1) has a rail running in a horizontal X-direction, and a column supported at the rail in a movable manner. The column is aligned in a vertical Y-direction. A loader is movably supported at the column in the Y-direction and comprises a gripping device for gripping a foodstuff carrier (7) e.g. plate. The gripping device is movably supported in a perpendicular manner in a Z-direction. The gripping device is movably supported in a linear manner in the X-direction and Y-direction. A cooling device cools the foodstuff carrier. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a baking device comprising a discharge rack (2) a baking method for manufacturing a fresh baking product.
