PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for monitoring a smoke and a flame are provided to inform an administrator of a fire. CONSTITUTION: A fire image about a smoke or flame is inputted(S110). R, G, and B images and Y, Cb, and Cr images including color information with luminance and chrominance elements are formed by analyzing the fire image(S120). It is determined whether the smoke and flame occur by analyzing the R, G, and B images or Y, Cb, and Cr images(S130). If the smoke or flame exists, an alarm about the smoke or flame is generated(S140). |
