PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map display automatic scale change system, automatically displaying a map with a suitable scale according to a vehicle surrounding state. SOLUTION: On a road where the vehicle runs in a current map, the map is zoomed out, when the number of intersections before the vehicle is not more than a first predetermined value such as three, and in a zoomed out scale, the number of intersections after the vehicle is less than a second predetermined value such as two. On the road where the vehicle runs in the current map, the map is zoomed in, when the number of intersections before the vehicle is not less than a third predetermined value such as seven, and in a zoomed in scale, it is more than fourth predetermined value which is less than the third predetermined value and more than the first predetermined value, such as five. The following condition such that, in the current map, the map is zoomed out, when a running distance of a straight distance to next intersection is less than a fifth predetermined value such as 1.5, and the map is immediately zoomed in, when it is more than a sixth predetermined value such as ten, is added.
