<p>In a cellular wireless communications network, a maximum value for a total transmit power of one or more mobile devices 22 having wireless connections to a base station 18 is adapted based on interference with a macro-layer base station 16 of the cellular wireless communications network. The maximum value for total transmit power of the one or more mobile devices 22 may be adapted based on pathlosses between the macro-layer base station and the one or more mobile devices 22. The invention has particular application to access points, or femto-cell base stations (FBS) 18, for location within a home or office and for which costly site surveys or detailed radio network planning are not possible. The FBS 18 may also select a carrier frequency and/or scrambling code from lists of resources shared with other base stations 16.</p> |
