<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chitosan-containing powder having a higher chitosan content ratio than in the past. <P>SOLUTION: The chitosan-containing powder is obtained by dispersing chitosan having a molecular weight of about 10,000-300,000 in water, adding thereto lactic acid which dissolves the chitosan at a molar ratio of the chitosan to the lactic acid of about 1:0.9 to 1:0.8 to mix, agitate and dissolve the chitosan, rendering the degree of deacetylation of the chitosan dissolved in the lactic acid in the obtained solution about not less than 90% and simultaneously rendering the chitosan concentration dissolved in the lactic acid about not less than 15 w/w%, filtering the solution to remove impurities, diluting the filtrate, and thereafter reducing the obtained solution to powder by spray drying to obtain a chitosan-containing powder having a chitosan content adjusted by the spray drying in the powder of not less than about 30% and a molar ratio of the chitosan to lactic acid in the powder of not more than about 1:0.9. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
