<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide X-ray equipment with an automatic gradation processing function, capable of setting the pixel value in a region of interest approximately at a target output value, and obtaining an image with appropriate density and contrast both in a low X-ray absorbent region and in a high X-ray absorbent region. <P>SOLUTION: The equipment comprises: a means for extracting a region for extracting a quantity of characteristics from input image data; a means for normalizing the pixel value of the input image data and converting the tone of the pixel value based on the quantity of image characteristics; a means for storing a plurality of basic tone conversion characteristics; a means for storing the target output value corresponding to the quantity of image characteristics; a means for comparing the output value of the basic tone conversion characteristics and the target output value and selecting the basic tone conversion characteristics with the minimum error for the target output value; a means for preparing the gradation characteristics by synthesizing the normalized tone conversion characteristics and the selected basic tone conversion characteristics; and a means for converting the input image data to a prescribed pixel value based on the tone conversion characteristics. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
