PURPOSE: A passenger airbag device is provided to deploy an airbag cushion to an optimal pressure by controlling the gas exhaust of the airbag cushion according to the location of passenger on a passenger seat. CONSTITUTION: A passenger airbag device comprises an air bag cushion, a guide panel(20), a shielding member, a tether(36). If the gas flows in, the air bag cushion is swelled and is touched with the passenger on a passenger seat. The guide panel is combined in the air bag cushion. The through hole of a guide panel is communicated with the vent hole of the air bag cushion. The location of the shielding member is elastically varied and the gap between the vent hole and through hole is shielded. The shielding member is arranged between the air bag cushion and guide panel. One end of the tether is combined in the shielding member. If the air bag cushion is swelled to a constant size, the tether is separated from the shielding member. The other end of the tether is combined in the air bag cushion. The tether is combined in the part contacting the passenger sitting on the passenger seat. |
