FIELD: agriculture. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nature conservation actions, in particular, to methods for scaring rodents away from plantations that strengthen water reservoir banks. The method may be used at various water reservoirs, including pools, lakes, ponds, etc. The method to protect young plantations against rodents includes installation of protective elements in close proximity to plantations. Protective elements are newly cut branches of wood plants. Branches are tightly laid and fixed to each other, forming a shield on the water surface with width of 3Ç5 m, length of 3Ç15 metre and distance between the laid branches 3Ç6 cm. The shield is arranged near the shore line in parallel to the coast. The length of the shield exceeds the length of young plantations rows at the slope and edge of the bank towards each side. The shield is fixed against carryover with the wind using fixing elements. Access of rodents to plantations is restricted. ^ EFFECT: invention provides for integrity of plantations against damages. ^ 5 cl, 3 dwg |
