FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: in order to produce synthetic gas containing hydrogen and carbon monoxide, starting material containing methane undergoes partial oxidation using a multichannel burner fitted with a system of separate channels. Methane-containing material, at temperature higher than 500C, flows through one channel of the burner and oxidising gas flows through another channel. The channel for the methane-containing material and the channel for the oxidising gas are separated from each other by a channel through which a second gas containing hydrogen, carbon monoxide and/or hydrocarbon flows, where the second gas is at temperature 10C lower than its spontaneous ignition temperature. The second gas is obtained from gaseous by-products of a Fischer-Tropsch synthesis process or from gaseous by-products of a methanol synthesis process. ^ EFFECT: improved process. ^ 22 cl, 2 dwg |
