PURPOSE: A method for controlling vergence by dividing a screen and a stereoscopic camera using the same are provided to automatically control a disparity of a divided area to the optimum value. CONSTITUTION: An area dividing unit divides left and right images into areas with preset sizes(S100). A disparity producing unit extracts a correlation at each divided area of the left and right images(S200). The disparity producing unit produces a disparity between divided areas of the left and right images. A vergence control unit independently controls the disparity at each area(S300). A 3D image generator generates a 3D image(S400).
