A method of obtaining images on a metal surface as a layout for further cutting, engraving and etching includes transfer on the metal plate surface of an image printed on a paper plate in mirror imaging using a laser monochrome printer. The paper plate is placed with the image down to the plate in a thermal press with its subsequent heating.
