PURPOSE: A video reproducing method and portable terminal using the same are provided to enable a user to directly grasp a processing state by displaying a thumbnail image in a video category screen. CONSTITUTION: A display unit(151) reproduces a video. When the reproducing of the video is stopped, a control unit(180) extracts the stop screen of a stop point. The control unit creates a thumbnail image by integrating the extracted stop screens. The control unit displays the created thumbnail image on a video list. The stop point is matched a reproduction pause time or a reproduction stop time.
