PURPOSE: A cutting insert and a tool holder for holding the same are provided to enable a cutting insert to be mounted on the right position of a tool holder since the stopping unit of the tool holder is held in the recess of the cutting insert. CONSTITUTION: A tool holder(100) comprise an upper support plane(110), and a lower support plane(120). Since the upper and lower support planes are integrally formed, the cutting insert is elastically fixed. Since a fastening unit to fasten the upper support plane is removed, the width of the tool holder decreases. A deep groove is formed without limit by the shape of the tool holder. A wrench is inserted, so the gap between the upper and lower support planes becomes wide, and the cutting insert is simply replaced.
