PURPOSE: A non-aqueous electrolyte and a non-aqueous electrolyte battery are provided to improve high temperature cycle characteristic and battery characteristic after the high temperature retention of the battery. CONSTITUTION: A non-aqueous electrolyte includes electrolyte salt, an aromatic compound, polyoxometalate and/or a polyoxometalate compound. The aromatic compound is represented by chemical formula 1. In the chemical formula 1, the R1 to R6 are respectively hydrogen, halogen, aliphatic alkyl group, cycloaliphatic alkyl group, phenyl group or alkoxy group. One or more of the R1 to R6 are halogen, aliphatic alkyl group, cycloaliphatic alkyl group, phenyl group, or alkoxy group. Parts or whole of hydrogen atoms in the R1 to R6 are capable of being substituted with halogen. Parts of the R1 to R6 are capable of forming rings. |
