PURPOSE: A three-dimensional video viewing apparatus and operation method thereof are provided to prevent the discomfort of a user according to the shutter operation of an unnecessary video viewing apparatus. CONSTITUTION: A communication unit(510) receives a three-dimensional synchronization signal from a video display device. The video display reproduces a three-dimensional image. In case the three-dimensional synchronization signal is detected, a controlling unit(520) determines reproduced content in the three-dimensional image. The controlling unit generates a shutter driving signal. A glass unit(530) includes a left eye glass unit(531) and a right eye glass unit(532).
