<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a centrifugal separator which can shorten cooling time lag while suppressing rise of a production cost by making evaporation temperature of a cooling mechanism stepwise variable. <P>SOLUTION: The centrifugal separator is equipped with: a rotor 1 for carrying out centrifugal separation of a sample while holding the sample; a motor 2 for rotating the rotor 1; a chamber 4 for demarcating a rotary chamber which houses the rotor; an evaporator 5 which is arranged at an outer periphery of the chamber 4 and which cools the rotary chamber 3; a compressor 7 for circulating a cooling medium through the evaporator 5; a condenser 9 for dissipating heat from the cooling medium compressed by the compressor 7; diaphragm mechanisms 10A, 10B for carrying out adiabatic expansion of the cooling medium, which is compressed and from which heat is dissipated, and then supplying the cooling medium to the evaporator; and a control part 12 for controlling them. In the centrifugal separator, a plurality of diaphragm mechanisms 10A, 10B are provided, and an on-off valve 11A, in which the supply of cooling medium to the diaphragm mechanisms 10A, 10B can be operated by the control part 12, is provided. By using the on-off valve 11A, the supply of cooling medium to the plurality of diaphragm mechanisms 10A, 10B from the condenser 9 can be stepwise variably controlled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
