The striker (10) has a locking eyelet (15) designed by clamping legs (11-14) and providing an eyelet eye (18) for engaging a locking element e.g. latch. One of the legs includes a tension spring-like stretching portion (24) for degradation of energy in an accident situation. The stretching portion includes a folding such that the stretching portion unfoldingly extends in the accident situation when tensile force acts on the striker by the locking element. The stretching portion is formed such that the stretching portion experiences plastic deformation in the accident situation.
