The trim part (1) has a diaphragm surface area (2) i.e. hard gap-free surface area, with an aperture (3), where the surface area is made of solid metal. An infrared-permeable material i.e. dark plastic, is arranged behind the aperture. An infrared light source and an infrared light sensor are arranged such that infrared light is produced from the light source and emerges through the aperture. The light sensor detects infrared scattered light that is generated outside the trim part and enters into the trim part through the aperture. An independent claim is also included for a method for triggering a control function by utilizing a trim part.
