The system has a latch unit engaged into another latch unit for insertion of an electrical plug (400) into a recess (600) such that a detent connection is formed between the plug and an insulation unit (200). The recess, the plug and the latch units are aligned such that the plug slides along the latter latch unit in a longitudinal direction (700) of energy storage cells (110, 120) during expansion of the cells in the longitudinal direction to balance expansion of the cells. A current conductor (300) comprises a contact pin (320) for measuring voltage potential between the cells.
