PURPOSE: A binder for a secondary battery is provided to fundamentally improve the stability of an electrode by offering the increased chemical resistance of the binder. CONSTITUTION: A binder for a secondary battery contains a polymer particle with more than three monomers copolymerized with each other. The binder has the gel content of 50-100%, and the swelling degree for an electrolyte of 1.1-5. The three monomers is a mixture of an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid ester monomer, and more than one monomer selected from the ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid ester monomer, a vinyl system monomer, or a nitrile system monomer.
