<p>A transmitting terminal is used in a communication system wherein a transmitting terminal, which estimates a band of a network and controls a transmission rate of data, and a plurality of receiving terminals, which duplicate the data transmitted from the transmitting terminal and transfer thereof to a downstream receiving terminal, are connected in a tree with the transmitting terminal as the root upon the network. The transmitting terminal is provided with a receiving unit for receiving a recipient report which includes packet loss rate and round trip time between the transmitting terminal and the receiving terminal which have been transmitted from each receiving terminal; a band-estimated-terminal selection unit for selecting a receiving terminal for which a band of the network is to be estimated when estimating the band, on the basis of distribution tree information and the packet loss rate included in the recipient report; and a band estimation unit for estimating the band of the network on the basis of the packet loss rate and the round trip time included in the recipient report which had been transmitted from the selected receiving terminal. Accordingly, even in a case in which the packet loss situation upon the network always changes, high-quality data transmittance is possible.</p> |
