Disclosed is a color filter which has clear and high-quality color properties having excellent contrast performance, and also has superior resistance including heat resistance to that of conventional color filters, and high reliability. Also disclosed is a colored resin composition for forming a color filter, which utilizes a specific dye-type coloring compound and can be produced by mixing the coloring compound with a binder resin, a solvent, a curing agent, specific curing agent, a curing-accelerating agent and others. A color filter produced using the resin composition has excellent color properties such as contrast performance and therefore has high quality, and also has excellent resistance including heat resistance and solvent resistance and high reliability.
