<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus, where when an imaging apparatus is placed on a desktop or the like and the desktop is a substantially exact horizontal plane, an inclination display unit indicates that the inclination is zero, or even if the desktop is inclined, the posture of the imaging apparatus can be manually or automatically corrected to enable the imaging apparatus to keep its posture in a horizontal direction. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes a photographic optical system; an image pickup device 101 for converting incident light via the photographic optical system into an electrical signal; a display unit for displaying a subject image based on imaging signal from the image pickup device 101; an acceleration sensor 111; an outer cover 1 in which the photographic optical system, the image pickup device 101, the display unit and the acceleration sensor 111 are incorporated; inclination calculation means for calculating the inclination of the outer cover 1 from the output of the acceleration sensor 111; an inclination display unit for displaying the inclination of the outer cover 1 calculated by the inclination calculation means; and legs 46 and 47, used for placement, which are provided on the outer cover 1 in such a manner that the amounts of protrusions thereof are adjustable. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
