<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp which improves startability. <P>SOLUTION: A discharge lamp includes: an inner tube 1 having a light-emitting part 11 and seal parts 12a, 12b; metal foils 3a1, 3b1 sealed inside the seal parts 12a, 12b; lead wires 3a4, 3b4 of each of which one end is connected to the metal foil 3a1, 3b1 and the other end is led outside of the inner tube 11 along a tube axis; a burner BN including an outer tube 5 provided to cover the light-emitting part 11; and a socket 6 for holding the burner BN. The socket 6 includes a bottom terminal 8b as a metal terminal for supplying power to the burner BN, the bottom terminal 8b is electrically connected with the lead wire 3b4, a gas is sealed in a space 52 formed between the inner tube 1 and the outer tube 5, and a distance L1 between a rear end of the metal foil 3b2 and a welding point 8b1 with the lead wire 3b4 in the bottom terminal 8b is equal to or less than 34 mm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
