PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an aluminum alloy which has enhanced mechanical strength and rigidity and further has a reduced thermal expansion coefficient by adjusting the composition of an aluminum molten metal and ultrasonic irradiation conditions.
SOLUTION: An aluminum alloy molten metal containing, by mass, 15 to 20% Si and 0.0004 to 0.02% P, and the balance Al with inevitable impurities is irradiated with ultrasonic waves at a liquidus temperature or higher, and, within 100 s after the irradiation with the ultrasonic waves, the aluminum alloy molten metal is cast at a cooling velocity of ≥20°C/s. The aluminum alloy molten metal may further contains, by mass, 0.5 to 6% Ni and 2 to 8% Cu, and, if required, may contain 1 to 4% Fe, 0.4 to 2.4% Mn, 0.15 to 0.55% Cr and 0.15 to 0.4% Ti, and. if required, may further contain 0.05 to 1% Mg.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
