<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat treatment method and apparatus for the rolling surface of a rolling element, with which straightening work can be eliminated by reducing a thermal effect, and a sufficient hardened depth and hardness can be obtained. <P>SOLUTION: In the heat treatment method for the rolling surface of a rolling element, with which hardening to the rolling surface of the rolling body is carried out by laser-beam hardening, before applying the laser-beam hardening to the rolling surface, a preliminary heat treatment is beforehand carried out. Accordingly, the rolling surface of the rolling element can be heated to the hardening temperature to the depth of the material and the sufficient hardening depth can be obtained. Further, the thermal effect is greatly reduced since the laser-beam hardening is carried out, and the straightening work can be eliminated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
