<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promptly develop and provide a preceding vehicle monitoring announcement transmission device and an announcement transmission method thereof, which is easily handled by any person, is inexpensive with high performance, and has excellent operability, durability, and maintainability. <P>SOLUTION: A preceding vehicle monitoring announcement transmission device includes: an inter-vehicle distance detection sensor such as an infrared sensor mounted on the front part of a vehicle so as to instantaneously detect a change in an inter-vehicle distance by the movement of a preceding vehicle by starting and to transmit an abnormality transmission signal; a controller for receiving an electric signal originated from the inter-vehicle distance detection sensor and transmitting the abnormality transmission signal; and announcement transmission means for transmitting as an announcement the movement of the preceding vehicle by starting to the driver of a rear vehicle.
