<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve power saving more than ever regarding a data repeating device mainly used at a subscriber side. <P>SOLUTION: A data repeating device R (for example, included in a subscriber-side device) transfers data from one port to another. As a condition which is at least one of the two conditions is satisfied that the data repeating device R receives a control instruction from a communication partner (for example, a station-side device) connected one port (port 2), and that it notifies the communication partner of information regarding control, the data repeating device R performs control to lower a reception function of a receiving unit 1 of the port and thereby reduces power consumption, and when a prescribed restoration condition is satisfied (for example, a prescribed time period has passed or prescribed time has arrived), restores the reception function. In this case, because recognition of the reception function being lowered can be shared with the communication partner, when the reception function is lowered, the communication partner can be made not to perform data transmission to the data repeating device R. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
