REMOVING AGENT FOR GASEOUS MERCURY IN GAS CONTAINING VAPOR OF METALLIC MERCURY AND/OR MERCURY COMPOUND AND GASEOUS MERCURY REMOVAL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gaseous mercury removing agent which solves problems in a conventional dry adsorbent and efficiently adsorbs gaseous mercury in a natural gas, gaseous mercury contained in exhaust gas due to the combustion of fossil fuel and gaseous mercury contained in gas obtained by gasifying heavy oil or the remaining residual liquid, coal, biomass or the like, and to provide a gaseous mercury removal method.

SOLUTION: The gaseous mercury is removed from gas containing the metallic mercury or the mercury compound by the removing agent comprising a mixture containing iron sulfide and carbon based material.
