<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion chamber structure which can reduce a cooling loss while preventing the lowering of filling efficiency, in a compression ignition internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: In the combustion chamber structure of the compression ignition internal combustion engine, an insulating layer which has lower thermal conductivity than other positions is provided on at least one of a sidewall of a cavity provided on a top surface of a piston and a wall surface of a cylinder head commanding a squish area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
