<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermediate of a cyclic carbodiimide compound useful as a terminal blocking agent for a polymer compound. <P>SOLUTION: There is disclosed a compound represented by formula (S). In the formula, X represents a quadrivalent pentaerythrityl group; Ar<SP POS="POST">1</SP>to Ar<SP POS="POST">4</SP>each independently represent an aromatic group that may be substituted with a 1-6C alkyl group or a phenyl group; and α represents -NO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>, -NH<SB POS="POST">2</SB>, -N=PAr<SP POS="POST">a</SP><SB POS="POST">3</SB>(Ar<SP POS="POST">a</SP>is a phenyl group), or -N=C=0, provided that two αs may bind to each other to form urea or thiourea. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
