<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the degradation of an image quality that is caused by disorder of a droplet landing position, if no-margin printing is carried out when conveying paper by sucking and chucking. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a conveyance belt 43 with a plurality of suction holes 45 formed thereon; a suction fan 144 for sucking air from the suction holes 45 of the conveyance belt 43; a fan guide 145 for forming a suction area by the suction fan 144 in the center section of the paper P; and a charging unit 146 for charging the area of the conveyance belt 43 corresponding to both ends in the width direction of the paper P. In the center section of the paper P, the paper P is chucked to the conveyance belt 43 by the suction of the suction fan 144, and the conveyance belt 43 is charged by the charging unit 146 at both ends of the paper P.
