<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive coating device which can perform assured bonding and bonding rich in bookbinding quality by making the adhesive uniformly osmose between sheet leaves by revolving while moving a coating roll to a bundle thickness direction, when applying the adhesive. <P>SOLUTION: The coating roll which performs reciprocating along with an end face of a sheet bundle includes: a rotary shaft; and a roll member which is firmly fixed to the perimeter of the rotary shaft, wherein at least the roll member is constituted to be movable in position in a thickness direction of the sheet.
