Disclosed is a method for producing a positive electrode active material, by which a positive electrode active material that is capable of improving characteristics such as capacity and durability of a lithium secondary battery can be stably produced. Specifically disclosed is a method for producing a positive electrode active material for a lithium secondary batter, which is characterized by comprising: (1) a molding step of forming a sheet-like molded body which contains, as starting materials, a first component that is composed of a lithium compound, a second component that is a composed of a compound of a transition metal other than lithium, and a third component that is composed of boron oxide and/or vanadium oxide; and (2) a firing step of firing the molded body at a temperature within the range of 700-1300°C. |
