<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time lags of stereoscopic image outputs in an imaging device which cannot immediately generate a stereoscopic image from left and right viewpoint images. <P>SOLUTION: Distance information is calculated from the left and right image data A, B of the n-th (n=1, 2, 3, ..) frame until a release button 19 is fully depressed, the distance information corresponding to the image data A, B of the n-th frame is applied to the image data A of the (n+1)-th frame obtained from an imaging unit 20A to generate virtual image data B', three-dimensional image data of the n-th frame is generated based on the image data A of the (n+1)-th frame and the image data B' to be displayed on a monitor 18 as a through-image, and the steps described above are repeated. In this way, the through-image is displayed by using the distance information calculated for the previous frame and the viewpoint image of the next frame, so that the delays in the display of the newest through-image caused by waiting for the calculation of the distance information can be prevented from occurring. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
