<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back of hand authentication system and a back of hand authentication method which verify the identity of a user by imaging the user's back of hand vein pattern and matching a branch point, a branch feature, and an optimum branch point weighted value of the vein pattern providing most stable optimum branch characteristics for an individual. <P>SOLUTION: The back of hand authentication system includes: a back of hand authentication terminal device having a finger imaging camera for taking a picture of user's fingers, a back of hand imaging camera for taking an original image of a user's back of hand, and a video decoder connected to the finger imaging camera and the back of hand imaging camera, which converts the original images of the finger and the back of hand into a digital finger image and a digital back of hand image respectively and outputs them through a communication control unit; and a back of hand authentication server having a processor for authentication processing, an authentication information database for storing a reference image and a vein pattern optimum distribution characteristic information used for authentication processing for each personal identification code, a temporary storage memory for storing information temporarily at the time of authentication processing, and an external device interface for outputting an authentication result to an external device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
