PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dye-containing colored composition for a color filter, in which the composition is excellent in light resistance, to provide a color filter having high lightness and high contrast using the colored composition, and to provide a liquid crystal display device and an EL display including the color filter.

SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device or an organic EL display having good light resistance is obtained by using a dye-containing colored composition comprising at least a cationic dye and a binder resin containing a glycol structure as a unit structure.
