<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction material having ultra-high heat resistance at a low cost without lowering strength. <P>SOLUTION: For a resin amount distribution of the friction material, a resin amount distribution in a thickness-direction from the friction surface side of the friction material to an opposite friction surface side is set so that when the friction material is cut at its maximum length, the resin amount distribution in a thickness-direction changes two-dimensionally or three-dimensionally, by forming the two-dimensional or three-dimensional distribution of the resin amount of the friction material based on a high or low temperature. Thus, a resin amount near the friction surface is lower than that in the friction material or near the opposite friction surface. Hence, heat resistance and heat spot resistance greatly increase, and a highly heat-resistant friction material can be obtained. Since the resin amount distribution in the thickness-direction of the friction material is determined in the drying step of the friction material, and no post-processing step is necessary, the friction material having ultra-high heat resistance can be obtained at a low cost without lowering the strength. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
