A particular charger configured to be electrically coupled and communicatively coupled to a particular portable electronic device is described. The particular charger includes an AC/DC converter, a controller, a charger memory, a charger cable, and an authentication module. The controller provides a means for processing the data from the particular portable electronic device memory by synchronizing the device memory with the charger memory.
