The invention relates to mechanical engineering and, more specifically, to the production of wheelsets for freight and passenger cars, unpowered cars, electric trains and diesel trains used on main-line railways. The wheelset comprises an axle with single-flanged wheels mounted thereon. The axle and wheels are solid-rolled. The wheels are press fitted onto the axle so that the larger diameter of the hub openings is situated on the inner side of the wheels. The tolerances for the surface shape of the hub openings are a maximum of 0.025 mm for the roundness tolerance and 0.05 mm for the longitudinal section profile tolerance. Axle equipment of any known design can be press fitted onto the axle. The technical advantages of the invention are a simplified design and simplified manufacturing technique, improved strength properties, increased service life, the absence of premature wear on the wheel hubs and rims, and increased operating reliability and safety of the rolling stock.
