PRODUCTION METHOD OF POLYPHENYLENE ETHER RESIN COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit a molten or semi-molten fixture of polyphenylene ether resin composition from generating due to stagnation and accretion in a grooved part of screw, in a process of feeding and heat-melt kneading powdery polyphenylene ether (a) and thermoplastic resins other than the (a) in a twin screw extruder.

SOLUTION: The powdery polyphenylene ether (a) is fed from the side part of twin screw extruder to a transfer region for the molten thermoplastic resins other than the (a) by means of a compulsive side feeder, the screw constitution of the feeding part of extruder and the barrel setting temperature of the extruder are specified, and the powdery polyphenylene ether (a) is made to mingle in a powdery solid state with the thermoplastic resins other than (a) in a molten state; in the process of feeding and heat-melt kneading the powdery polyphenylene ether (a) and the thermoplastic resins other than the (a) in the twin screw extruder.
