PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display element having an interlayer insulating film with excellent heat resistance and light resistance and having a high voltage holding rate, and to provide a positive radiation-sensitive composition having excellent storage stability and suitable for forming the interlayer insulating film.

SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display element includes two substrates disposed oppositely, an interlayer insulating film laminated on an inner face side of at least one of the substrates, and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the substrates and formed from a polymerizable liquid crystal composition, in which a resin constituting the interlayer insulating film has a crosslinked moiety of a polymer expressed by the formula (1).
