<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device and an image viewing system which can reduce crosstalk occurring on a display screen according to the scanning position of a display screen. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal drive part 2 drives a liquid crystal panel 31 at a drive amount according to a luminance equal to or more than a target luminance when driving the liquid crystal panel 31 so as to increase the luminance toward the target luminance determined by an image signal for a left eye or an image signal for a right eye, performs overdrive processing of driving the liquid crystal panel 31 at a drive amount according to a luminance equal to or less than the target luminance when driving the liquid crystal panel 31 so as to restrain the luminance toward the target luminance.
