<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diversity communication system which can reduce the number of reception systems in a centralized base station, realize simplification of device configuration and low cost, and achieve higher communication quality. <P>SOLUTION: A centralized base station 10 is configured to control a plurality of remote base stations 40 in such a way only selected remote base stations 40 transmit an optical signal, to combine, before detection, received multiple optical signals, and to perform demodulation processing by converting a combined optical signal into an electrical signal. The plurality of remote base stations 40 comprise control means for turning on or off transmission of an optical signal. The centralized base station 10 comprises control means which measures reception power of an optical signal combined before detection regarding all combinations selecting two or more remote base stations out of the plurality of remote base stations 40, selects a combination of remote base stations 40 whose reception power becomes the largest, and controls the plurality of remote base station 40 in such a way only the selected remote base stations 40 transmit an optical signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
